Family Violence - YOU DESERVE to be safe and be loved in a positive manner.

Please consider seeking help - there is a safe place for you

Family violence is very real and more common than you think:

If you are:

  • threatened verbally or physically
  • put down
  • separated or kept away from family and friends
  • strangled in an argument,
  • pushed, punched or shoved,
  • forced to do sexually acts you are uncomfortable with
  • generally feeling like your life is not your own

"Do you feeling safe?"
Health professionals often ask this question, throughout pregnancy your midwife will ask this question many times.

Family violence often begins for the first time in pregnancy and/or becomes more frequent.

If you need help please talk to your midwife; or if you are supervised by your partner try and get a note to your midwife to seek help.

There is an organisation called Women's refuge who can organise anything from a safe house to counselling - please contact them if you need help
